For some reason I had this picture wandering around in my head today. I am not sure why. However, I do know that it was taken during a wonderful day spent with my sister and she just celebrated her anniversary this week.

This beautiful lighthouse is officially know as Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1920 on one of the Les Eclaireurs islets. The lighthouse is about five miles east of Ushuia, Argentina and is in the middle of the Beagle Channel. However, the lighthouse is more commonly known to Argentines as Faro del fin del mundo (The Lighthouse at the End of the World).

The Beagle Channel is named after the HMS Beagle during its first voyage to Argentina from 1826 to 1830. The channel runs between Argentina and Chile. The HMS Beagle made another trip to the channel three years later with Charles Darwin on board…
